Vanderbilt drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors. But it gets worse. Here is what we found. Let&#39;s start at the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1572313369528635392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cInsurance coverage carriers are mandated to cover expenses for trans folks,\u201d a woman identified by Walsh as Dr. Shayne Taylor stated in a 2018 video posted by Walsh on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Vanderbilt was apparently concerned that not all of its staff would be on board. Dr. Ellen Clayton warned that &quot;conscientious objections&quot; are &quot;problematic.&quot; Anyone who decides not to be involved in transition surgeries due to &quot;religious beliefs&quot; will face &quot;consequences&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CgNicrG4Mg\">pic.twitter.com\/CgNicrG4Mg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1572313566589468672?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a lot of money. These surgeries make a lot of money. Female to male chest reconstruction could bring in $40,000,&#8221; Taylor stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe female-to-male \u2018bottom surgeries,\u2019 these are huge moneymakers.\u201d Taylor said.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/vanderbilt-university-clinic-responds-claims-unethical-transgender-surgery-minors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> September 21 that Taylor\u2019s employee page on the Vanderbilt University Medical Center&#8217;s website is no longer available, and the center did not immediately respond to questions about her employment status.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are going to assert conscientious objection, you have to realize that that is problematic,\u201d a woman identified as Dr. Ellen Clayton at Vanderbilt stated in another <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1572313566589468672\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> posted to Twitter by Walsh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf someone had a conscientious objection to participating in this sort of surgery, we\u2019d probably have to accommodate you to the extent that we could find another person to do your job who doesn\u2019t have an objection,\u201d Clayton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I just want you to take home that saying that you\u2019re not going to do something \u2026 because of your religious beliefs, is not without consequences. And it should not be without consequences,\u201d Clayton continued. \u201cIf you don\u2019t want to do this kind of work, don\u2019t work at Vanderbilt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Clayton is a professor of pediatrics, law and health policy, according to the Vanderbilt University Law School website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe page for the transgender pediatric clinic was also unavailable on the Vanderbilt Children&#8217;s Hospital website, despite being live as recently as August 31,\u201d Fox News reported. \u201cVanderbilt Health&#8217;s &#8216;Gender-Affirming Surgery&#8217; page was unavailable as of Wednesday, but was live as recently as July 2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Vanderbilt responds Walsh posts, says video &#8216;misrepresents facts&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cVanderbilt University Medical Center is now the subject of social media posts and a video that misrepresents facts about the care the Medical Center provides to transgender patients,\u201d according to a VUMC <a href=\"https:\/\/news.vumc.org\/2022\/09\/21\/statement-about-transgender-health-care-at-vumc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> posted September 21:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We have been and will continue to be committed to providing family-centered care to all adolescents in compliance with state law and in line with professional practice standards and guidance established by medical specialty societies.<\/p>\n<p>VUMC requires parental consent to treat a minor patient who is to be seen for issues related to transgender care, and never refuses parental involvement in the care of transgender youth who are under age 18.<\/p>\n<p>Our policies allow employees to decline to participate in care they find morally objectionable, and do not permit discrimination against employees who choose to do so. This includes employees whose personal or religious beliefs do not support gender-affirming care for transgender persons.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a fully independent nonprofit and has been a separate legal entity from Vanderbilt University since 2016.
