{"id":11962,"date":"2012-11-09T04:30:52","date_gmt":"2012-11-09T09:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/?p=11962"},"modified":"2015-05-28T16:56:53","modified_gmt":"2015-05-28T20:56:53","slug":"evangelical-college-refuses-to-allow-pro-life-display","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/evangelical-college-refuses-to-allow-pro-life-display\/","title":{"rendered":"Evangelical College Refuses to Allow Pro-Life Display"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An\u00a0evangelical college in Santa Barbara, Calif.,\u00a0continues to\u00a0deny a request by a student to set up a graphic pro-life display on campus, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldoncampus.com\/2012\/11\/inexpressibly_horrific\" target=\"_blank\">WORLD on Campus reports.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Westmont (College)\u00a0is an evangelical Christian school, with a mission to serve &#8216;God&#8217;s kingdom by cultivating thoughtful scholars, grateful servants and faithful leaders for global engagement with the academy, church and world.&#8217;\u00a0&#8230; Its statement of faith affirms the trinity, the resurrection and the inerrancy of scripture.<\/p>\n<p>But for three years in a row, Westmont&#8217;s student government association denied (student Seth) Gruber&#8217;s request to bring a pro-life display to campus. The display, known as the Genocide Awareness Project and sponsored by the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR), contains billboard-sized photos of aborted babies. Some are whole, others in pieces. Gruber admits the display is graphic and horrific, but he believes it&#8217;s truth that students need to see.<\/p>\n<p>Jane Higa, Westmont&#8217;s dean of students, said the school doesn&#8217;t disagree with Gruber&#8217;s pro-life position, but administrators don&#8217;t agree with his methods of communication.
