Decolonization is ‘ethnic cleansing, but woke,’ conservative professor wrote<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Academics took to social media in support of Palestine\u2019s “decolonization” in the wake of Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, including babies.<\/p>\n

Texas Tech University education Professor Jairo I. F\u00fanez-Flores wrote<\/a> on X hours after Oct. 7 attacks that “decolonization is not a metaphor. It’s about a free Palestine.”<\/p>\n

The professor, who specializes in \u201cdecolonial theory\u201d and \u201cactivist research,\u201d wrote \u201cdecolonization is about dreaming and fighting for a present and future free of occupied Indigenous territories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Politics Professor Uahikea Maile of the University of Toronto told<\/a> X users in the immediate aftermath of the attacks that Israeli \u201coccupation is a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maile is a “professor of Indigenous politics” according to his X bio and a \u201cscholar, activist, and practitioner” whose interests include “indigenous critical theory; settler colonialism; political economy; feminist and queer theories; and decolonization,” according to his university page.<\/p>\n

He urged solidarity with the Palestinian cause: \u201ca l\u0101hui [group] that stands for decolonization and deoccupation should also stand behind freedom for Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Decolonization is about dreaming and fighting for a present and future free of occupied Indigenous territories. It\u2019s about a Free Palestine. It\u2019s about liberation and self-determination. It\u2019s about living with dignity. DECOLONIZATION IS NOT A METAPHOR<\/p>\n
