{"id":135867,"date":"2023-10-20T00:01:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T04:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/?p=135867"},"modified":"2023-10-19T16:00:28","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T20:00:28","slug":"university-of-oklahoma-hosted-two-drag-queen-performances-for-29000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/university-of-oklahoma-hosted-two-drag-queen-performances-for-29000\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Oklahoma hosted two drag queen performances for $29,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>&#8216;As America\u2019s cultural revolution continues, OU\u2019s regents seem unwilling to do their part to stop it,&#8217; watchdog says<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Over the course of four months, the University of Oklahoma recently paid a total of $29,000 for two drag queen performers.<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma&#8217;s flagship public institution hosted Yvie Oddly in April as the headliner for its annual \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ou.edu\/gec\/crimson-and-queens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crimson &amp; Queens<\/a>\u201d drag show, costing $18,000, and earlier this semester, in August, paid Kornbread Jete $11,000 to host drag bingo.<\/p>\n<p>The payments became public through open-records requests filed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/ocpathink.org\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs<\/a>, and payment for both performers came from student fees at OU.<\/p>\n<p>The August Drag Bingo event cost $17,674, and Jete was paid the $11,000 for \u201ca minimum of two (2) songs\u201d and to host bingo, <a href=\"https:\/\/ocpathink.org\/post\/independent-journalism\/ou-drag-queen-payments-29-000-and-counting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the records.<\/p>\n<p>With tuition and mandatory fees for a full-time, in-state Oklahoma student at about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ou.edu\/bursar\/tuition_fees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$4,800<\/a> per semester, the $29,000 would cover six semesters\u2019 worth of tuition.<\/p>\n<p>Both Oddly and Jete have a consistent presence on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>On May 30, Oddly <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OddlyYvie\/status\/1663635856651956225\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> he has \u201cfamily to love and c*cks to suck.\u201d His account also features multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OddlyYvie\/status\/1704878016835571969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nude<\/a> photos, some that are censored and others that are not.
